Our Services - Steps to Building a Custom Home

Starbuck Construction, Inc. will walk you through the process of building your dream home from purchasing your lot, to assisting you with making your final decisions on your landscaping and pool contractors.

• An initial meeting with Gary Starbuck to take a look at your new home site and or discuss areas that you are considering. He would then discuss the style of home and your lifestyle. Gary also work’s with the draftsman/architect in the design your new home.
  
  
• At the completion of your first draft plan a second meeting would be scheduled with Gary to estimate the cost of your home. If all is in agreement we would then proceed to signing a design contract which covers the design of your custom home, engineering, association design review and city plan review. Gary would also assist you with your construction loan if needed. A deposit of approximately $10,000.00 would be requested at this time.
  
  
• A third meeting would be scheduled to sign your construction contract. We will review your plans and make any final changes you might have. We would then review with you a list of items along with your allowances, which you will need to select for your new home along with names of places and contacts. Your list will also give you a time frame, which you will need to make your selections.
  
  
• There will be several meetings during the course of construction, as you will be so excited about the start of your new home and have many questions. You will begin selections for your interior and exterior colors and start working with a cabinet maker regarding the style of cabinets for your new home.
  
  
• Prior to the completion of the framing we will have an on site meeting with you to discuss electrical, phone, stereo outlets, actual cabinet layout and any specialty framing needs (niches, etc.). You will then start your selection of appliances, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures etc.
  
  
• After sheet rock is completed and during the finish carpentry we will review your selection of interior colors, and review your appliance, plumbing and lighting selections.
  
  
• We will now have the meeting you’ve been waiting for, your walk through, final project accounting and sign off of completion.
  
  
• 60 days after you have moved in we will have a warranty walk through.

Construction changes will be permitted with a written change order. Immediate payment for total amount of the changes is expected prior to Starbuck Construction Inc. making the change.
